Finding high quality affordable speakers can be hard because many products fail to strike the right balance between price and performance. There are so many great quality speaker systems out there which have just priced themselves right out of the market, and similarly, there are many cheap models which just can’t deliver the quality which people want. Fortunately there are some products out there which are perfect for the buyer on a budget; this article is going to recommend a few of these great buys to you.

The first speaker on my list is the JBL On Tour, many of you may have heard of this model before, that’s because it has been selling well for a number of years now. This product is an excellent example of good compact design and superb sound quality. The JBL has a funky curved design which allows it to slip into a satchel or handbag, if you are looking portability, this speaker system is for you. These cheap speakers have a great tone and really shine in the mid to high frequencies, if you love guitar solos this baby will make them come to life! The JBL On Tour can be connected to the mains or ran on batteries, they use four AAA batteries and can be expected to last around 24 hours, not bad for under £50.

The Logitech S315i is another favourite of mine, it’s cool butterfly-wing design make it one of the best looking speakers on the market and it black veneer is the icing on the cake. Much like the aforementioned model the S315i sound great and is extremely portable, what gives this model the edge over many similar prices speakers is impressive bass, the Logitech can be played at huge volumes and actually sounds like a much bigger speaker. Although its shape does indicate that it is primarily intended to be used with an IPOD, the secondary input connection can actually be connected to whole range of other MP3 players. It even has a special power saving button which double the battery life from 10 to 20 hours, not too bad if you’re willing to sacrifice a little bass performance.
Any of these two products would make excellent speakers, they’ve been chosen because of their superb performance and affordability. Make no mistake about it, if you purchase the S315i or the JBL On Tour you will not be disappointed, that’s a promise.
